Our beer run on February 26 will be to Strangelove’s to support  Bookin’ For Lookin’.  Bookin’ For Lookin’ was founded by active local runner, FBR  and Achilles member Mark McCown to fund research to find a cure for blindness. Mark started Bookin’ after being diagnosed with a degenerative sight condition (which hasn’t slowed him down in the slightest–he ran his first marathon last November!).  The three Bookin’ for Lookin’ races–8 Miler, 5K, and 1 Mile Kids Fun Run–will be held on Sunday, April 19 in Newtown, PA.

At the bar, a $5 donation and bracelet will get you $4 pours of specially-donated beers from Victory and Saint Benjamin Brewing Co. We will also raffle off some crave-worthy prizes from Philadelphia Runner and a complimentary Bookin’ For Lookin’ race entry.  Also, Gortex is donating two running jackets (medium women’s & medium men’s) to the raffle. To quote Mark, “Your support can help me, my fellow Achilles athletes, and millions of other visually-impaired and/or blind athletes/individuals, see again!”
