Beer-Lovers-Mid-Atlantic-940x560

Author and runner, Bryan Kolesar, will be our special guest for our April 14th Run to Druid’s Keep.   Bryan has run with us before, but it was before his Beer Lover’s Mid-Atlantic book was published. He’s conducted his own beer runs around Philly since 2007 and was the race director for the Philly Beer Week 5-K in 2012. He even had a pilot episode of Philly On Tap that featured FBR that never aired. Maybe we can convince him to share it with us. He’s returning to run with us when we’ll all meet up at Druid’s Keep for our post-run beers and toast to the Professor.

Kolesar will have his book for sale ($20) at Druid’s Keep after the run and is looking forward to talking and drinking beer with us all. His book covers 320 establishments in PA, NJ, DE, and MD. It features both breweries and brewpubs making great beer as well as bars and restaurants (such as Druid’s Keep of course!) that are serving it well. There are also homebrew recipes as well as kitchen recipes (including one from Memphis Taproom chef Jesse Kimball). A must-read for all well-traveled beer lovers in the mid-Atlantic region.

Druid’s Keep was the destination of our first official beer run on December 20, 2007. It is located at 149 Brown Street (off of 2nd Street) in Northern Liberties. It is just under 2 miles from our usual start location. Folks are encouraged to go farther before circling back.  There is outside seating in the back.
