We return to one of FBR favorite run destinations, the historic Cherry Street Tavern (CASH ONLY). The Tavern is located at the corner of 22nd and Cherry Streets in the Logan Square neighborhood of Philadelphia. It’s a local landmark, having been operated in the same location since 1905. During Prohibition, the actual bar itself was removed from the building and replaced with a barber’s chair, and the tavern was transformed into a barber shop — although one or two might’ve had a wee taste as well as a haircut. Today they are famous for their beer selections and their oven-roasted beef which is hand-sliced right on the premises.
Thanks to our friends at Alpine Beer Company all pints of Hoppy Birthday will be $4 and pitchers will be $16. Cherry Street’s owner Bob said if we kick the keg of Hoppy Birthday, the special prices will move over to PBC’s Harvest from the Hood.
If you want to run longer this route is 4.8 miles from the Fishtown start location – http://www.mapmyrun.com/
Can’t make it to Fishtown, a group leaves from 7th & Bainbridge at 7:00 PM.
