The Fishtown Beer Runners will be raising money for another worthy cause again on Thursday, February 16th. Runners will head to Twisted Tail and raise money for Ella’s Retreat, a non-profit focused on providing lodging for families with children receiving proton therapy treatment at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.

“Ella’s Retreat is honored to team up with The Fishtown Beer Runners for an exciting evening of running and raising our pints at the Twisted Tail,” said Joe Walsh, Ella’s Retreat Co-Founder and Board President.

“Our charity depends on working with great organizations with common goals to help others in need. The Fishtown Beer Runners and all of their affiliate chapters exude this.”

For a $5 donation at the door, beer runners will receive access to drink and food specials throughout the night. Raffles will be held as well, with prizes ranging from 5k registrations to a weekend “staycation” at a Center City suite.

Other Beer Runner chapters have also supported Ella’s Retreat. In September 2016, Elkins Park Beer Runners helped raise over $1,200 for the organization at a fundraiser at McKinley’s Tavern.

This February, FBR hopes to raise even more, helping more families at need.

“Ella’s Retreat and the families we support thank you!” said Walsh.
