FBR will be participating in Philly Plogging Week during our run to The Black Cat. Organized by Clean Air Council, Not in Philly, Pennsylvania Resources Council, and our very good friends the West Philly Runners!  Plogging week takes the Swedish trend of picking up litter while running to Philly’s streets. Plogging week aims to create awareness around the effects of litter on our neighborhoods and environment.

We will have trash bags and gloves available at each of our three start locations. During your run to Black Cat Tavern, you will stop along the way to pick up trash. You are encouraged to work in teams and to take different routes to The Black Cat.  As you can imagine, if you try to pick up every piece of litter you saw in the city on your run, you’d be pulling 40 minute/mile pace, so we suggest that you stop about once per block. If there’s a particularly bad block, then your fellow runners will have your back. It’s not going to be perfect, but it’ll make a hell of an impact.  What a great way to run and talk trash!!  And remember, get to the bar no questions asked.

REMEMBER TO BRING YOUR ID!
