The Fishtown Beer Runners combine responsible running and consumption in the interest of science. We gather once a week to run three to five miles, and conclude each run at a pub for a beer or two.

It's The Runners

It’s The Runners

It was  a blustery January night when I, a recent Philadelphia transplant, made my way to Fishtown for my first run with the Fishtown Beer Runners. Expecting to wander into just any old running club,  I was pleasantly surprised to be instantly thrust into the company of interesting people who seemed to share an unusual...

The primary mission is to test the results of a scientific research study conducted by Manuel J Castillo-Garzon, MD, Professor of Medical Physiology, School of Medicine, at the University of Granada. The professor is Dr. Manuel Castillo-Garzon of the University of Granada. He and...

The Down-Under-side of Running

I recently traveled to Sydney, Australia and got a small taste of what life is like Down Under. The most impressive aspect of Sydney life? Physical activity. Walking around the Central Business District on a Thursday at lunch, the park was swarming with cyclists, footballers, cricketers, boxers, and, of course, runners. It was a beautiful...

A Big Day in Kensington!

By Amy Childs Today was a big day in Kensington, and not just because I enjoyed my 3rd tour of the Philadelphia Brewing Company (and you know, three’s a charm), but it certainly doesn’t hurt to hang out at the PBC for an afternoon if you want to catch wind of some of the latest...
